Dr. Kenneth Cole (a.k.a., The Dr. of Good News)
For over 20 years, Licensed Clinical Psychologist and award winning children's author, Dr. Kenneth Cole, has inspired children, adolescents, families and communities to realize the good news that exists within themselves and the world around them. From inner-city Chicago, to the islands of Hawaii, to Los Angeles and now to his practice in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, he has been fortunate to be a witness to countless examples of resilience, self determination and hope.
Dr. Cole with his sisters, Flamsy and Bunky. From a young age Dr. Cole was taught the importance of family, hard work and an understanding and appreciation of those that came before him.  Whether it is the wisdom of the elders in his community, or the stories of triumph over adversity, Dr. Cole's work with his clients, and throughout his life is fueled by what he has been taught and learned along the way.

Each of these influenced his graduate studies at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology where he earned a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology.  Soon thereafter he began direct service working with a wide array of populations ranging from survivors of physical and/or sexual abuse and trauma, veterans, families, couples and adults coping with depression and anxiety.

But throughout it all he remains focused on finding other avenues of reaching others.  And this neverending quest resulted in the writing and eventual publication of No Bad News.  Although this award winning book is officially labeled a "children's book", Dr. Cole's intention was to have its message resonate with young and old alike.  Says Cole, "I've been amazed at the response from people across the country to the message of No Bad News.  I've been fortunate to have kids proclaiming, "I AM GOOD NEWS!" after hearing the story, as well as adults letting me know that its message helped them get through a time of struggle and loss."
Even in the water, Dr. Cole is always looking for some good newsAll that being said, as the Doctor of Good News (and as a psychologist), Dr. Cole's mission is simple; to help others in our world, regardless of age, race, class, gender, or political affiliation search for and find the beauty that resides within us all.  Says, Dr. Cole, "Every day we are provided opportunities to enhance our lives and that of others. And the first step is as simple as holding one's head high and looking for the good news that's within yourself and all around you."
